How Can pain In The Penis Shaft be Treated?

Sharp pain in the head of my penis but goes away. Had same symptoms last year and spent 5 days in the hospital. Was diagnosed with diverticulosis but I'm questioning if that is the correct diagnosis. I haven't found anyone else with diverticulitis complaining of sharp pains in their penis

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Diverticulosis cause pain in abdomen mainly in left lower quadrant.
It does not cause penis shaft pain
Your symptoms could be due to urethritis, prostatitis, gonococcal & chlamydia infection, cystitis, stone in bladder, reactive arthritis (if associated with joint pain)
I would suggest to consult urologist and undergo clinical examination, urine tests, tests for gonococcal and chlamydia, USG scan if needed
Specific treatment depend on cause
Tablet doxycyclin for 2 week treats most of infections
UTI treated by septran DS, pyridium and syrup cital

Meanwhile take tablet diclofenac or ibuprofen for pain
Drink plenty of water and juice of cranberry, orange and pineapple
Maintain proper pelvic hygiene
Hope this may help you

Contact HCM further if follow up needed
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
